Carrier Sales Specialist

Job Summary:

The Carrier Sales job family is tasked with load coverage and servicing freight through its conception, transit and post-delivery procedures. FCL relies on its dedicated Carrier Sales team to field incoming calls from prospective carriers, make outbound calls on posted equipment to cover loads and track freight through transit.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Service freight through the entirety of its lifecycle; conception, transit and post-delivery.
  • Field inbound calls and assist carrier team in call coverage.
  • Conduct outbound calls to secure coverage for FCL’s booked freight; call load varies based on the current market.
  • Develop strong carrier relationships, expanding the reach and capacity of FCL’s trusted carrier network while building your own portfolio/book of business.
  • Work closely with teammates and pod leadership to cover freight at or below market pricing.
  • Work ahead to pre-book freight, allowing our customer teams to capitalize on fast coverage to get more freight.
  • Track and cover remaining freight on the weekend Saturday shift (when scheduled).
  • Participate in ongoing training, reviews, and development plans, leveraging company support systems aligned for your growth.
  • Arriving at work location promptly, and leaving when the work is completed.
  • Always maintain consistent, clear lines of communication with all parties.
  • Aid teammates with “all hands on deck” scenarios.
  • Be a positive addition to the team with a desire to learn, grow, and succeed.
  • Provide constructive feedback to management through innovative ideas, system improvements and team suggestions.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Determined by experience and working market/location

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday.
  • Weekend availability: Rotating Saturday schedule that will decrease in frequency as we grow our team.

Supplemental pay types:

  • Commission Pay in addition to salary.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • This job is not remote, as such we are looking for team members that are willing to commute or relocate closer to the office.

Experience:

  • Prior 3PL, logistics and/or supply chain experience is a plus.
  • Experience in sales.
